Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Ground beef (or ground Italian sausage) 1 pound
Onion, chopped 1 medium
Garlic, minced 3 cloves
Marinara sauce 1 jar (24 oz)
Crushed tomatoes 1 can (15 oz)
Dried Italian seasoning 1 teaspoon
Salt 1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper 1/2 teaspoon
Frozen cheese ravioli 1 package (25 oz)
Shredded mozzarella cheese 2 cups
Grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 cup
Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (optional) 1/4 cup

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Meat Sauce:

    • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef (or sausage) until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain any excess fat.
    • Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until softened.
    • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
    • Stir in the marinara sauce, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
    • Let the sauce simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Layer the Ingredients in the Crockpot:

    • In a 6-quart crockpot, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce at the bottom.
    • Add a layer of frozen ravioli on top, followed by a layer of the meat sauce.
    • Repeat the layers until all the ravioli and sauce are used, ending with a layer of sauce.
    • Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  3. Cook the Lasagna:

    • Cover the crockpot with the lid and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours or on HIGH for 2-3 hours, or until the ravioli is tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. Serve:

    • Garnish with chopped fresh basil or parsley if desired.
    • Serve warm, and enjoy!
