🛒 Ingredients

Ingredient Amount & Notes
Ripe bananas 3 large; mashed
Brown sugar ¾ cup
Unsweetened applesauce ½ cup
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Egg 1 large
All-purpose flour 1 cup
Cocoa powder ½ cup
Baking soda 1 teaspoon
Salt ½ teaspoon
Mini chocolate chips 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons; semi-sweet preferred
Powdered sugar (optional) For garnish

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Preheat Oven
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray an 8×8-inch baking pan with nonstick spray.

2. Mix Wet Ingredients
In a medium bowl, mash bananas until smooth. Whisk in brown sugar, applesauce, egg, and vanilla until fully blended.

3. Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, stir together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

4. Make the Batter
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined. Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips.

5. Pour & Top
Transfer batter to your prepared pan and sprinkle the remaining 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips on top.

6. Bake
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

7. Cool & Serve
Let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar if desired. Slice and enjoy!
