Crock Pot Mississippi Roast

Ingredients:

Ingredients Quantity
Chuck Roast 1 (approximately 3 lbs)
Olive Oil or Vegetable Oil 2 tbsp
Salt To taste
Pepper To taste
Ranch Dressing Mix 1 packet
Dry Onion Soup Mix 1 packet
Salted Butter 1/2 cup (1 stick)
Peperoncini Peppers 8

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Roast:
    • Pat the chuck roast dry with paper towels, then season generously with salt and pepper.
    • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, sear the roast on all sides until browned.
  2. Prepare the Crock Pot:
    • Place the seared chuck roast in the crock pot or slow cooker.
    • Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and dry onion soup mix evenly over the roast.
  3. Add the Butter and Peppers:
    • Cut the stick of butter into slices and place them on top of the roast.
    • Scatter the peperoncini peppers around the roast in the crock pot.
  4. Slow Cook to Perfection:
    • Cover the crock pot with the lid and cook on low heat for 8 hours, or until the roast is fork-tender and falling apart.
