Ingredients:
Ingredient | Quantity |
---|---|
Chicken wings | (amount not specified in recipe) |
Cooking wine | 2 tablespoons |
Light soy sauce | 2 tablespoons |
Salt | ½ teaspoon |
Black pepper | ½ teaspoon |
Egg | 1 |
Starch | 1-2 tablespoons |
Oil | (enough for frying) |
Instructions:
- Marinate the chicken wings: Using a chicken wing knife (or sharp knife), cut the wings into separate pieces at the joint. In a bowl, combine the cooking wine, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken wings and toss to coat. Marinate for 30 minutes.
- Prepare the batter: In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and starch.
- Fry the wings: Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Dip each marinated chicken wing in the batter, coating evenly. Carefully add the wings to the hot oil and fry for a few minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Be sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Drain and serve: Once cooked, transfer the wings to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
