Ingredients:

Unsalted butter, melted 7 tablespoons
Graham cracker crumbs (about 9 whole crackers) 1/1/2 cups
Granulated sugar 3 tablespoons
For the Filling
Cream cheese, softened 8 ounces
Powdered sugar 1 cup
Pure vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Cool Whip 1 container (8 ounces)
Cherry pie filling 1 can (21 ounces)

How To Make Classic Cherry Delight:

Step 1: Make the Crust: In a medium bowl, combine 7 tbsp melted butter, 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs, and 3 tbsp granulated sugar. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a greased 8×8 baking dish. Set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, beat the 8 oz cream cheese until smooth and lump-free. Mix in the 1 cup powdered sugar and 1 tsp vanilla extract until combined. Gently fold in the 8 oz Cool Whip, mixing just until blended (do not overmix).

Step 3: Assemble the Dessert: Spread the filling evenly over the crust. Spoon the 21 oz cherry pie filling over the top and spread carefully to cover the filling. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight) before serving. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator.
