Ingredient Quantity
Ground beef 1 lb
Onion, chopped 1 medium
Garlic, minced 2 cloves
Salt 1 tsp
Black pepper 1/2 tsp
Paprika 1 tsp
Cream of mushroom soup 1 can (10.5 oz)
Sour cream 1 cup
Milk 1/2 cup
Cooked white rice 1 1/2 cups
Shredded cheddar cheese 2 cups
Frozen peas 1/2 cup (optional)
Chopped fresh parsley 1 tbsp (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. Cook ground beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Mix casserole base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and milk. Stir in the cooked ground beef mixture, cooked rice, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. If using, add the frozen peas.
  4. Assemble casserole: Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  5. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly and the cheese on top is melted and golden.
  6. Serve: Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
