White onion 1 cup, diced
Garlic powder 1 tablespoon
Salt 1 teaspoon
Black pepper ½ teaspoon
Shredded cheddar 1 cup
American cheese 12 slices
Tater tots/discs 32 oz bag
Iceberg lettuce Shredded, for topping
Dill pickles Diced, for topping
White onion Finely diced, for topping

🔪 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the sauce: In a small bowl, combine all sauce ingredients until smooth.
  3. Cook the filling: In an oven-safe skillet, brown the ground beef and onions over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then pour in the prepared sauce. Mix in the shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
  5. If your skillet isn’t oven-safe, transfer mixture to a baking dish.
  6. Layer American cheese slices on top of the meat mixture, followed by an even layer of tater tots or discs.
  7. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, until tots are golden and crisp.
