How To Make Pioneer Woman’s Apple Dumplings:
- Step 1: Prep & Preheat: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 baking dish. Cut the apple into 8-10 wedges and slice the skin off. Separate the crescent roll dough into individual triangles.
- Step 2: Assemble the Dumplings: Roll each apple wedge in a crescent roll dough triangle, starting at the wide end. Pinch the dough to seal and cover the apple, then place each dumpling in the prepared baking dish.
- Step 3: Make the Sauce: Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Stir in the sugar and cinnamon and heat, whisking to combine. The mixture will slowly combine and thicken. When it’s thickened, remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
- Step 4: Bake: Pour the cinnamon mixture evenly over the apple dumplings. Pour the soda over the dumplings as well. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.
