Ingredients (For Crust)

Yellow cake mix, dry (not prepared) 1 box
Butter (melted) 8 tablespoons
Egg 1

Ingredients (Gooey Layer)

INGREDIENTS AMOUNT
Cream cheese (softened) 8 ounces
Eggs (beaten) 2
Powdered sugar 16 ounces

How To Make Ooey Gooey Bars:

Step 1: Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350F (175C).

Step 2: Prepare Crust: In a medium bowl, combine the 1 box cake mix, 8 tablespoons melted butter, and 1 egg. Mix until smooth and well combined. Pat and press the dough evenly over the bottom of a greased 9×13 baking pan.3 Set aside.

Step 3: Prepare Gooey Layer: In a separate large bowl, beat and cream the 8 oz cream cheese. Add the 2 eggs and beat until smooth for a minute or two. Add the 16 oz powdered sugar and continue to beat until well combined.

Step 4: Bake: Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust and bake at 350F for about 25-30 minutes or until done. The bars should be set around the edges but still slightly jiggly in the center. Do not over bake.

Step 5: Cool and Serve: When done, remove from oven and let cool completely (this is important for the gooey texture) before cutting into bars.
