Ground Beef Casserole

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Ground beef 1 lb
Tomato sauce 2 cans (15 oz. each)
Large white onion, diced 1
Egg noodles 1 package (8 oz.)
Sour cream 1 cup
Cream cheese 1 package (3 oz.)
Shredded sharp Cheddar cheese ½ cup, or more to taste
Garlic salt 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
White sugar 1 tsp

How to Make Ground Beef Casserole:

  1. Step 1: Cook the Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned and crumbly. Drain excess grease. Stir in garlic salt, salt, white sugar, and tomato sauce. Mix until well combined, then simmer for about 20 minutes. Remove the skillet from heat and cover.
  2. Step 2: Cook the Noodles: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook the egg noodles until al dente, then drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking.
  3. Step 3: Prep & Mix: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced onion, sour cream, and cream cheese until smooth.
  4. Step 4: Layer the Casserole: Layer half of the noodles in the bottom of the casserole dish. Top with half of the sour cream mixture, then half of the beef mixture. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  5. Step 5: Bake: Sprinkle the top generously with Cheddar cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Step 6: Serve: Remove from the oven, serve warm, and enjoy!
