Bavarian Sauerkraut

| Dry white wine | 1/2 cup |
| Bay leaf | 1 |
| Juniper berries (optional) | 5 |
| Caraway seeds | 1 teaspoon |
| Sugar | 1 teaspoon |

Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients
- Drain and rinse the sauerkraut.
- Peel, core, and dice the apple.
- Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
- Cook the Onions and Garlic
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the finely chopped onion and cook until translucent.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the Sauerkraut and Apple
- Stir in the drained and rinsed sauerkraut.
- Add the diced apple and mix well.
- Add the Seasonings
- Pour in the dry white wine.
- Add the bay leaf, juniper berries (if using), caraway seeds, sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Stir well to distribute the seasonings.
- Simmer
- Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan.
- Let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
