Ingredients

Milk 1 cup (240 ml)

Baking powder 2 tsp

Brown sugar 2 tbsp
Cinnamon 1 tsp
Lemon juice 1 tbsp

Instructions

Prepare the Apples

  1. Peel and dice apples into small cubes.
  2. Toss with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Set aside.

Make the Cake Batter

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add melted butter and vanilla, then stir in milk.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Mix dry ingredients into wet until smooth.

Assemble

  1. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan.
  2. Spread apple mixture evenly over the batter.
  3. Pour remaining batter on top and smooth with a spatula.

Bake

  • Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool & Serve

  • Let cool for 20 minutes.
  • Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
