Cheese whiz 1/2 cup (optional)
Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon
Ketchup 2 tablespoons
Eggs 2
Panko breadcrumbs 1 cup (gluten-free for gluten-free)
Provolone 4 ounces (optional)
Provolone slices 8

Instructions:

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large pan.
  2. Add diced onion, green bell pepper, and mushrooms. Cook until tender (7-10 minutes).
  3. Add chopped garlic, cook for an additional minute, then remove from heat.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, cheese whiz, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, eggs, breadcrumbs, and the cooked onion mixture.
  5. Place half of the mixture in a loaf shape on a baking sheet.
  6. Add a solid piece of provolone in the middle.
  7. Top with the remaining meat mixture, seal the edges well, and shape the loaf.
  8. Bake in a preheated 350°F/180°C oven for 50-60 minutes until cooked through.
  9. Spread sliced provolone over the top and return to the oven. Broil until the cheese has melted (2-4 minutes).
