Cheesy Cabbage Oven Bake

This dish is pure comfort in a casserole dish—warm, creamy, and bubbling with melted cheese. It has all the heart of a Midwestern classic, but swaps pasta or potatoes for tender roasted cabbage. The cabbage softens and caramelizes in the oven, then gets tucked under a blanket of gooey cheese. It’s the kind of no-fuss recipe you can slide into the oven while tackling chores, yet it still tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen.

Perfect for anyone cutting back on carbs without giving up that cozy, cheesy satisfaction we all crave on a chilly evening.

Pair it with grilled chicken, baked sausage, or a pan-seared pork chop for a protein-rich meal. A crisp green salad with tangy vinaigrette balances the richness beautifully. For family members who aren’t watching carbs, add crusty bread, buttered noodles, or roasted potatoes. Steamed green beans or roasted carrots also make an easy veggie side.
