🍲 Easy Hamburger Mushroom Bake

Ingredients

Meat & Vegetables 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
8 oz (225 g) fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 small onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
Creamy Base 1 cup (240 ml) sour cream
½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
1 cup (100 g) shredded mozzarella
½ cup (50 g) shredded cheddar
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
Seasonings 1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp dried thyme (optional)
¼ tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven
    • Set oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the Beef
    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Brown ground beef for 5–7 minutes, draining excess fat if needed.
    • Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Sauté Vegetables
    • Add onion and garlic; cook 2–3 minutes.
    • Stir in mushrooms and cook until softened and moisture evaporates (5–7 minutes).
    • Add thyme and chili flakes if using.
  4. Make the Creamy Mixture
    • In a bowl, whisk sour cream and heavy cream until smooth.
    • Stir in half the mozzarella.
  5. Assemble the Bake
    • Spread beef evenly in the baking dish.
    • Layer mushroom mixture over the beef.
    • Pour creamy mixture on top.
    • Sprinkle remaining mozzarella and cheddar.
  6. Bake
    • Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
  7. Rest & Serve
    • Let sit for 5–10 minutes before serving.
    • Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
