Three Envelope Roast

This Three Envelope Roast is a slow-cooker legend, often called “Mississippi Pot Roast’s” savory cousin. The trifecta of Italian, Ranch, and Brown Gravy mixes creates a flavor profile that is deeply savory, slightly tangy, and incredibly rich. Because you’re whisking the mixes with water first, you ensure a smooth, velvety gravy that permeates the meat as it breaks down, rather than leaving “seasoning hot spots.”

Step 3: Whisk the “Triple Threat” Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the Italian seasoning, Ranch seasoning, and Brown Gravy mix. Pour in the 1 cup of water and whisk until the powder is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

Step 4: The Pour: Pour the gravy mixture over the top of the roast, ensuring the meat is well-covered.

Step 5: Slow Cook: Set your crockpot to High and cook for 4 hours.

Note: If you have more time, this roast is even more “melt-in-your-mouth” tender if cooked on Low for 8 hours.

Step 6: Baste and Serve: Throughout the cooking process, occasionally open the lid and use a large spoon to baste the roast with the juices from the bottom of the pot. Once the beef shreds easily with a fork, it’s ready to serve.
