Classic Hamburger Hash
Ingredients:
| Ingredient | Amount |
| Ground beef | 1 lb |
| Russet potatoes, peeled and bite-sized chunks | 3 medium |
| White onion, chopped | 1 medium |
| Sharp Cheddar Cheese | 2 1/2 cups |
| Olive Oil | 1 tbsp |
| Garlic, minced | 2 tsp |
| Italian Seasoning | 1 tbsp |
| Salt and pepper | To taste |
| Green onion or parsley (optional) | For garnish |
How To Make Classic Hamburger Hash:
Step 1: Prep the Potatoes and Beef: Place your potato chunks in a pot of salted water and boil until they are just tender (about 5/8 minutes). You want them soft enough to eat but firm enough that they don’t turn into mashed potatoes in the pan. Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Brown the Meat: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic. Once the beef is fully browned and the onions are translucent, drain off any excess fat to keep the hash from becoming too greasy.

Step 3: Season and Crisp: Sprinkle the 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the meat. Add the boiled potatoes to the skillet along with the 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Stir-fry for a few minutes until the potatoes start to develop light brown, crispy edges.
Step 4: The Cheesy Finish: Add the 2 1/2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese to the skillet and immediately remove it from the heat. Gently fold the cheese into the meat and potato mixture until it’s melted and gooey.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve: Serve the hash while it’s piping hot. Top with a handful of fresh chopped green onions or parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
