How To Make 4-Ingredient Cheesy Holiday Potato Casserole:
Step 1: Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 350F (175C). Lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. If hash browns are very frozen, spread them out on a sheet pan to soften slightly for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3: Add Cheese and Seasoning: Add about 1 1/2 cups of the 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese to the bowl and stir to combine, reserving the remaining 1/2 cup for topping. Fold in salt and black pepper to taste, if desired.
Step 4: Combine and Transfer: Fold in the 1 bag of thawed shredded hash brown potatoes until everything is evenly coated. Transfer the potato mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it out into an even layer.
Step 5: Top and Bake: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top. Bake, uncovered, for 45-55 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbling around the edges and the top is melted and lightly golden.
Step 6: Rest and Serve: Let the casserole rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
