Crockpot Pepper Steak

Tender sirloin steak strips, onions, and bell peppers are slow-cooked in a savory sauce for this classic, flavorful one-pot meal.

Crockpot Pepper Steak

Ingredients:

Sirloin steak cut into strips 2 lbs
Minced garlic 2 tsp
Olive oil 2 Tbsp
Hot water 2/3 C
Beef bouillon cube 1
Cornstarch 1 Tbsp
Chopped onion 1 C
Soy sauce 3 Tbsp
Brown sugar 1 tsp
Diced tomatoes 1 Can
Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp
Pepper To taste
Bell peppers sliced (any color) 2

How To Make Crockpot Pepper Steak:

Step 1: Brown Steak: Heat the 2 Tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat on the stove. Add the 2 lbs sirloin steak and 2 tsp minced garlic to the skillet, and sauté until the steak is browned on the outside.

Step 2: Prepare Thickener: Place the 1 bouillon cube in the 2/3 Cups of hot water and stir until dissolved. Whisk the 1 Tbsp cornstarch into the water and bouillon mixture until smooth, and pour it into the crockpot.

Step 3: Add Sauce Ingredients: Add the 3 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp brown sugar, and 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce to the crockpot. Pour the 1 Can diced tomatoes and pepper to taste into the crockpot as well.

Step 4: Combine and Cook (Phase 1): Mix the 1 Cup of chopped onions and the browned beef into the crockpot, and stir to combine all of the ingredients well. Cook on HIGH for 3 hours or on LOW for 6-7 hours.

Step 5: Add Peppers and Finish Cook (Phase 2): Add the 2 sliced bell peppers and cook for an hour longer on either HIGH or LOW before serving.
