Creamy peanut butter (not natural/oily) 1 cup
Unsalted butter, softened 4 tablespoons
Pure vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Salt 1/4 teaspoon
Powdered sugar, sifted 1 1/2 cups
Semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips 2 cups
Vegetable shortening or coconut oil 1 tablespoon

How To Make Peanut Butter Balls:

  1. Prepare the base: Beat together peanut butter, softened butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  2. Add the powdered sugar: Gradually mix in powdered sugar (about 1/2 cup at a time) until a firm dough forms.
  3. Shape the balls: Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Chill the mixture: Refrigerate for 30–45 minutes until firm.
  5. Melt the chocolate: Microwave chocolate chips with shortening in 20–30 second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  6. Dip and coat: Use a fork or toothpick to dip each ball into melted chocolate. Tap off excess and place back on tray.
  7. Set and store: Refrigerate for 15 minutes until chocolate hardens. Store in an airtight container.
