How To Make No Bake Chocolate Oat Bars:
- Step 1: Prepare the Pan: Grease a 9×9-inch square baking pan.
- Step 2: Cook the Oats: Melt 1 cup butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix in the 3 cups quick cooking oats and cook over low heat for 2–3 minutes, until the mixture is well blended and slightly toasted.
- Step 3: Press Base: Press half of the oat mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Reserve the other half for the topping.
- Step 4: Make the Filling: In a small saucepan, melt the 1 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 cup peanut butter over low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth. Spread the chocolate mixture evenly over the pressed oat base.
- Step 5: Top It Off: Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the chocolate layer, pressing down gently (do not press hard).
- Step 6: Chill & Serve: Cover the pan and refrigerate for 2–3 hours or overnight, until the bars are completely set. Let the bars come slightly closer to room temperature before cutting into squares and serving.
