How To Make Philly Cheesesteak Casserole:
- Step 1: Preheat and Prep: Preheat the oven to 350∘F. Generously grease a 9×9 baking dish.
- Step 2: Cook Meat and Vegetables: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, begin to brown the 1 1/2 lb. ground beef. When the meat is partially browned, add the chopped onions and bell peppers to the skillet.2 Cook until the meat is completely browned and the vegetables are beginning to soften.
- Step 3: Season and Drain: Add the 1 tsp. seasoned salt and 2 tsp. minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for another 30 seconds until fragrant. Drain any excess grease.
- Step 4: Layer the Base: Layer the beef and vegetable mixture evenly in the bottom of the prepared 9×9 baking dish.
- Step 5: Prepare Egg Topping: In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the 4 large eggs, 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream, and 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
- Step 6: Assemble Casserole: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the beef in the baking dish. Arrange the 8 slices of provolone cheese over the top of the casserole, completely covering the filling.
- Step 7: Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the egg is set and the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly browned.3
- Step 8: Cool and Serve: Let the casserole cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
