- Step 1: Prep & Layer Filling: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a square baking dish. Pour the lemon pie filling into the bottom of the dish, spreading it into an even layer.
- Step 2: Add Cake Mix & Cream Cheese: Top the filling with about half of the yellow cake mix, spreading it evenly. Then, add the cubed cream cheese over this layer. Sprinkle the remaining cake mix over the cream cheese.
- Step 3: Add Butter & Bake: Place the thinly sliced unsalted butter pats evenly on top of the cake mix. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
- Step 4: Cool & Serve: Let the cake cool for 15-20 minutes before serving.
