Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Large apple (tart is best) 1
Pillsbury Crescent dough 1 can
Butter ½ cup
Sugar ⅔ cups
Cinnamon ½ teaspoon
Vanilla ½ teaspoon
7-Up or equivalent soda ¾ cup or 6 oz

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven & Prep Apples: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish. Cut the 1 large apple into 8-10 wedges and remove the skin.
  2. Wrap the Dumplings: Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles. Roll each apple wedge in a crescent roll dough triangle, starting at the wide end. Pinch the dough to seal and cover the apple, placing each dumpling in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Make the Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt the ½ cup of butter. Stir in the ⅔ cups of sugar and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon. Heat, whisking to combine, until the mixture has thickened. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the ½ teaspoon of vanilla.
  4. Pour & Bake: Pour the cinnamon mixture evenly over the apple dumplings in the baking dish. Pour the ¾ cup of soda over the dumplings. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the dumplings are golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.

Enjoy this sweet and simple dessert!
