Glorified Rice

This Glorified Rice is a classic, no-bake dessert that is perfect for a potluck or family gathering. It’s a delightful, creamy, and fruity dessert salad with a combination of fluffy whipped cream, sweet pineapple, chewy marshmallows, and tender rice.

Glorified Rice

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
White rice, uncooked 1 cup
Water 2 cups
Heavy whipping cream, chilled ¾ cup
Crushed pineapple with juice 2 (15 oz) cans
Mini marshmallows 1 ½ cups
Granulated sugar ½ cup
Maraschino cherries For garnish

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Rice: Add the 2 cups of water to a small pot and bring to a boil. Stir in the 1 cup of uncooked rice and reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and simmer for 20 minutes.
  2. Whip the Cream: While the rice is cooking, whip the ¾ cup of chilled heavy whipping cream in a separate bowl until stiff peaks form. Set it aside.
  3. Cool the Rice: Once the rice is fully cooked, uncover the pot and give it a stir. Let it sit for 10 minutes to cool.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Transfer the cooled rice to a large serving bowl. Mix in the 2 cans of crushed pineapple with juice, 1 ½ cups of mini marshmallows, and ½ cup of granulated sugar until everything is well combined. Gently fold in the whipped cream.
  5. Chill: Cover the bowl and chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
  6. Garnish & Serve: Garnish with maraschino cherries before serving.
