- Preheat Oven & Melt Butter: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the 6 tablespoons of cubed butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and put it in the preheating oven to melt. Once melted, carefully remove the dish from the oven.
- Prepare Batters: In a medium bowl, whisk together the 1.5 cups milk and 2 cups Bisquick baking mix. Set this bowl aside. In a separate bowl, whisk together the 1.5 cups chicken broth and 10.5 ounces of cream of chicken soup. Set this bowl aside as well.
- Layer Ingredients: Without stirring, layer the following ingredients directly over the melted butter in the baking dish:
- First, sprinkle the 2 cups of cooked or shredded chicken evenly over the bottom.
- Next, spread the 2 cups of mixed vegetables and the 1/2 chopped onion in an even layer.
- Lastly, sprinkle the 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese over the top.
- Pour Liquid Layers: Carefully and evenly pour the Bisquick batter over the cheese and other layers. Do not stir. Then, evenly pour the soup-stock mixture over the Bisquick layer. Again, do not stir.
- Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
