Ingredient Quantity
Egg noodles 2 ½ cups
Beef broth 1 cup
Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp
Heavy cream 1 pint
Swiss cheese, grated 1 ½ cups
Fresh parsley, chopped For serving
Kosher salt To taste
Freshly ground black pepper To taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set it aside.
  2. Make the meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, grated onion, garlic powder, ground nutmeg, 1 tsp kosher salt, and ½ tsp black pepper. Mix well until just combined.
  3. Scoop about 1 ½ tablespoons of the meat mixture and roll it into a ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
  4. Brown the meatballs: Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Transfer the browned meatballs to a plate and set aside.
  5. Cook the noodles: Cook the egg noodles in a large pot of salted boiling water for two minutes less than the package directions specify. Drain the noodles.
  6. Make the sauce: In the same skillet used for the meatballs, add the beef broth, heavy cream, and Worcestershire sauce. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Simmer the sauce for about 10 minutes, or until it has thickened slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove the skillet from the heat.
  7. Assemble the casserole: In the prepared baking dish, place the cooked egg noodles, then top with the browned meatballs. Pour the creamy sauce evenly over the noodles and meatballs. Sprinkle the grated Swiss cheese over the top.
  8. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Rest and serve: Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy!
