Milk 1 tablespoon

For the Topping:

Ingredient Quantity
Brown sugar 3 tablespoons
Cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease an 8×4-inch loaf pan with butter or nonstick spray. Set aside.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Add 1/2 of the flour mixture to the butter mixture, followed by the sour cream, then the rest of the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  6. Prepare Cinnamon Swirl: Transfer 1 cup of the batter to another medium bowl. Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, and milk for the swirl. Stir to combine.
  7. Layer Batter: Spoon a thin layer of the basic batter in the bottom of the prepared loaf pan. Dollop spoonfuls of the cinnamon batter on top. Top with the remaining basic batter.
  8. Swirl Batter: Smooth out the top and use a long skewer or knife to lightly swirl the batters together. Run through the batter a few times from side to side.
  9. Prepare Topping: In a clean bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon for the topping.
  10. Sprinkle Topping: Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar topping over the top of the loaf.
  11. Bake: Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 55-65 minutes.
  12. Cool: Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, run a knife around the edge and remove it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  13. Slice and Serve: Let the loaf cool completely before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
