Egg Yolks 4
Powdered Sugar 1 1/4 cups
Butter, melted and cooled 1/2 cup
Vanilla Extract 1 1/2 teaspoons
Almond Extract 1/2 teaspoon
All-Purpose Flour 1 cup
Orange Juice 1/2 cup
Orange Zest 1 orange
Orange Extract 1 teaspoon
Warm Whole Milk 1 1/2 cups
Orange Food Coloring (Optional) 2-3 drops

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
  2. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  3. Beat egg yolks and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in melted butter, orange zest, vanilla, almond, and orange extracts.
  5. Mix in orange juice.
  6. Mix in flour until smooth.
  7. Whisk in warm milk until smooth, and add food coloring if using.
  8. Gently mix in the beaten egg whites.
  9. Pour into the pan and bake 45-50 minutes, until the center barely jiggles.
  10. Let cool completely before slicing.
