I’m a little embarrassed by how much I love this dish… but it’s too delicious…

This recipe provides a simple and delicious way to make Chicken Cordon Bleu at home. Tender chicken breast is filled with Swiss cheese and ham, then breaded and baked to golden perfection.

Swiss cheese slices 4
Deli ham slices 4

All-purpose flour ½ cup
Eggs, beaten 2
Breadcrumbs 1.25 cups
Grated Parmesan cheese ½ cup
Garlic powder 1 teaspoon
Paprika ½ teaspoon
Salt & pepper To taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Pound each chicken breast thin (about ¼ inch) between plastic wrap.
  3. Lay a slice of Swiss cheese and ham on each chicken breast. Roll them up tightly and secure with toothpicks if needed.
  4. Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Dredge each chicken roll in flour, then dip in the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated. Finally, roll in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently for a good coating. Place the breaded rolls in the baking dish.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the breading is golden brown.
  7. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
  8. Enjoy hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired. Serve with steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh green salad.
