Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Ground Beef 2 pounds
Onions 6, chopped
Red Bell Peppers 2, seeded and chopped
Stewed Tomatoes 2 (16 ounce) cans, with juice
Kidney Beans 2 (15.5 ounce) cans, with liquid
Tomato Sauce 1 (16 ounce) can
Pineapple Chunks 1 (16 ounce) can, drained
Chili Powder 2 tablespoons
Salt 2 teaspoons

Instructions:

  1. Brown the Ground Beef (5 minutes):

    • Heat a large Dutch oven over high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, stirring constantly, until it is barely pink.
  2. Sautéing the Vegetables (5 minutes):

    • Stir in the chopped onions and red bell peppers to the browned ground beef. Cook the mixture for another 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened and the meat is fully browned.
  3. Draining Excess Fat (optional):

    • For a less greasy chili, drain the excess fat from the meat and vegetables using a large mesh strainer.
  4. Combining the Ingredients (optional):

    • Transfer the browned meat and vegetables back into the Dutch oven.
  5. Adding the Canned Ingredients:

    • Add the stewed tomatoes (with juice), kidney beans (with liquid), tomato sauce, and drained pineapple chunks to the pot.
  6. Seasoning the Chili:

    • Season the chili with chili powder and salt to taste.
  7. Simmering to Perfection (10 minutes):

    • Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer the chili, uncovered, for 10 minutes, or until it reaches your desired consistency.
  8. Serve and Enjoy!

    • Serve the Hawaiian-Style Chili hot with your favorite toppings, such as shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions.
