Ingredients:

For the Hamburger Steaks:

Ingredient Quantity
Ground beef 1 lb
Flour ¼ cup
Worcestershire sauce ½ tbsp
Salt and pepper To taste

For the Onion and Mushroom Gravy:

Ingredient Quantity
Brown gravy mix 1 packet
Onion, chopped 1
Mushrooms, sliced 2 cups
Water 1 cup
Salt and pepper To taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Hamburger Steaks:

    • Combine ground beef, flour, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well.
    • Divide mixture into 4 portions and shape into patties.
  2. Cook the Patties:

    • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil if needed.
    • Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
    • Remove patties and set aside, covered.
  3. Make the Gravy:

    • Add onion and mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until softened and browned.
    • Whisk together gravy mix and water. Pour into skillet, stirring until thickened.
    • Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Combine and Serve:

    • Return patties to skillet, nestling them in the gravy.
    • Simmer for 2-3 minutes to absorb flavors.
    • Serve hot, topped with gravy.
