Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Caramelize Onions: In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add thinly sliced onions and sugar. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are golden brown and caramelized (about 15-20 minutes).
- Prepare Rice: Spread uncooked rice evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Combine Broth and Onions: Add beef broth, salt, and pepper to the skillet with caramelized onions. Stir well, bring to a gentle simmer.
- Pour Over Rice: Pour onion and broth mixture over the rice in the baking dish, ensuring rice is evenly covered.
- Bake Covered: Cover baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.
