Funnel Cake Bites

These bite-sized funnel cakes are a delicious and fun treat! They’re crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the powdered sugar coating adds a sweet finishing touch.

Ingredients:

Milk 2 cups
Egg 1
Vanilla extract 2 teaspoons
All-purpose flour 2 cups
Salt Pinch
Baking soda 1 teaspoon
Sugar 2 tablespoons
Melted butter 6 tablespoons
Vegetable oil (for frying) Enough to fill a skillet 2 inches deep
Powdered sugar (for dusting) As needed

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the batter: In a large bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, baking soda, and sugar. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring until smooth. Stir in melted butter.
  2. Heat the oil: Pour vegetable oil into a large, deep skillet or pot. Heat over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  3. Fry the funnel cake bites: Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil. Fry in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry each side for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  4. Dust with powdered sugar: Once cooled slightly, dust funnel cake bites generously with powdered sugar. Serve warm and enjoy!
