This hearty and flavorful dish is perfect for a cozy meal. The soft rolls, juicy meatballs, and melted mozzarella cheese create a delicious combination.

Ingredients:

Ground beef 2 pounds
Eggs 2
Bread crumbs 1 cup
Fresh parsley, chopped 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons
Garlic, minced 6 cloves
Salt 1 teaspoon
Pepper 1/2 teaspoon
Vegetable oil For cooking
Soft rolls 4
Mozzarella cheese, sliced 8 slices
Marinara sauce 1 cup
Butter, melted 1/4 cup
Parmesan cheese, freshly grated For topping

Instructions:

  1. Make meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, bread crumbs, 1/4 cup parsley, 3 cloves garlic, salt, and pepper. Shape into golf ball-sized meatballs.
  2. Cook meatballs: Heat a cast iron pan with oil over medium-high heat. Cook meatballs until browned on all sides. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  3. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  4. Prepare rolls: Place soft rolls in a baking sheet. Cut the top and press the inside down to create boats.
  5. Make garlic butter: Mix melted butter, 3 cloves garlic, and 2 tablespoons parsley.
  6. Toast rolls: Brush rolls with garlic butter and bake for 5 minutes, or until toasted.
  7. Assemble boats: Place mozzarella slices in rolls. Add a spoonful of marinara sauce.
  8. Add meatballs: Place 3 meatballs in each boat and top with more marinara sauce.
  9. Bake and serve: Bake for 25 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Top with Parmesan cheese and serve.
