This classic chili recipe is packed with flavor and hearty ingredients. The combination of ground beef, beans, and a blend of spices creates a comforting and satisfying dish perfect for a cold day.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Olive oil 2 tablespoons
Onion, diced 2 large
Garlic, minced 5 cloves
Ground beef (chuck) 3 pounds
Tomato paste 2 tablespoons
Crushed tomatoes 1 12-ounce can
Beef broth 3 cups
Chili powder 3 tablespoons
Ground cumin 1 tablespoon
Smoked paprika 1 teaspoon
Dried oregano 1/2 teaspoon
Cayenne pepper 1/2 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
Kidney beans, drained and rinsed 2 15-ounce cans
Pinto beans, drained and rinsed 1 15-ounce can
Salt and pepper To taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add diced onions and cook until translucent.
  2. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Add chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, dried oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  6. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for about an hour, stirring occasionally.
  7. Stir in kidney beans and pinto beans. Simmer for another 30 minutes.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  9. Serve hot with desired garnishes (e.g., shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions, fresh cilantro).
