This slow cooker apple crisp is a classic dessert that is perfect for a cozy autumn day. The sweet and tart apples are baked to perfection under a crispy oat topping. It’s a simple recipe that requires minimal effort but delivers maximum flavor.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Sliced and peeled apples 6 cups
Granulated sugar 1/2 cup
Packed brown sugar 1/2 cup
Ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon
Ground nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon
Lemon juice 1 tablespoon
Old-fashioned oats 1 cup
All-purpose flour 1 cup
Cold butter, cubed 1/2 cup
Salt 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions:

  1. Peel, core, and slice the apples. Place them in a large bowl and toss with lemon juice.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour this mixture over the apples and toss to coat.
  3. Transfer the apple mixture to the slow cooker and spread it out evenly.
  4. In another bowl, combine the oats, flour, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples in the slow cooker.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 2 hours, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
