This hearty Cabbage Roll Casserole is a delicious and convenient twist on the classic cabbage roll. Packed with flavor and easy to prepare, it’s a perfect weeknight meal.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Olive oil 1 tablespoon
Onion 1 chopped
Garlic 3 cloves minced
Italian seasoning 1 tablespoon
Ground beef 2 pounds
Tomato sauce 1 can (29 ounces)
Green cabbage 1 head shredded
Rice 1 cup uncooked
Salt 1 teaspoon
Beef broth 3 cups
Coarse ground pepper 1 teaspoon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (175°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion until soft, about 3 minutes. Add garlic, Italian seasoning, and ground beef. Cook until beef is browned, breaking it up as you go. Drain if necessary.
  3. Combine tomato sauce, rice, salt, and half the pepper in a large bowl. This is your casserole mixture.
  4. Layer one-third of the cabbage, ground beef, and casserole mixture in a casserole dish. Repeat layers two more times.
  5. Pour beef broth over the entire casserole. Cover with aluminum foil.
  6. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle with remaining pepper before serving.

Optional: Add shredded mozzarella cheese for a cheesy twist.
