Garlic | 3 cloves minced |
Italian seasoning | 1 tablespoon |
Ground beef | 2 pounds |
Tomato sauce | 1 can (29 ounces) |
Green cabbage | 1 head shredded |
Rice | 1 cup uncooked |
Salt | 1 teaspoon |
Beef broth | 3 cups |
Coarse ground pepper | 1 teaspoon |
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (175°C).
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion until soft, about 3 minutes. Add garlic, Italian seasoning, and ground beef. Cook until beef is browned, breaking it up as you go. Drain if necessary.
- Combine tomato sauce, rice, salt, and half the pepper in a large bowl. This is your casserole mixture.
- Layer one-third of the cabbage, ground beef, and casserole mixture in a casserole dish. Repeat layers two more times.
- Pour beef broth over the entire casserole. Cover with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
