Chicken Parmesan Casserole

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Chicken breasts 4, boneless, skinless, butterflied
Panko breadcrumbs 1.5 cups
Parmesan cheese, grated 1 cup
Mozzarella cheese, shredded 1 cup
Fresh parsley, chopped 3 tablespoons
Dried oregano 1 teaspoon
Fresh basil, chopped ½ bunch
Marinara sauce 2.5 cups
Salt 1.5 teaspoons
Pepper To taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Layer the mozzarella cheese on top of the marinara sauce.
  4. Sprinkle the chopped fresh basil evenly over the mozzarella cheese layer.
  5. Season both sides of the butterflied chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  6. Arrange the seasoned chicken breasts in a single layer over the cheese and basil in the baking dish.
  7. In a bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, and dried oregano. Mix well.
  8. Sprinkle the panko breadcrumb mixture evenly over the chicken breasts in the dish.
