Instructions:

  1. Preparation:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease a casserole dish with butter or nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Prepare the Custard Mixture:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, vanilla extract, milk, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  3. Soak the Bread:
    • Add bread cubes to the custard mixture and gently stir to coat.
    • Allow the bread to soak in the mixture for about 10 minutes.
  4. Optional: Add Raisins:
    • If desired, mix in raisins for extra sweetness and flavor.
  5. Assemble the Bread Pudding:
    • Pour melted butter over the bread mixture and gently combine.
    • Transfer the mixture to the greased casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Bake:
