3-Ingredient Pan-Fried Halloumi

This 3-Ingredient Pan-Fried Halloumi is one of the most satisfying appetizers you can make in under ten minutes. Halloumi is a unique “squeaky” cheese with a high melting point, meaning it stays firm enough to develop a beautiful, salty crust while the inside becomes soft and warm.

3-Ingredient Pan-Fried Halloumi
Ingredients:
| INGREDIENTS | AMOUNT |
| Halloumi cheese, sliced into 1/2-inch thick pieces | 8 oz |
| Olive oil (or butter) | 1 tablespoon |
| Dried oregano or fresh thyme (optional) | 1/2 teaspoon |
How to Make Pan-Fried Halloumi:
Step 1: Prep the Cheese: Remove the 8 oz of halloumi from its package. Use paper towels to pat the slices very dry. Removing the surface brine is the secret to getting a deep golden sear rather than just steaming the cheese.

Step 2: Heat the Pan: Add the 1 tablespoon of olive oil (or butter for a richer taste) to a non-stick skillet over medium heat.3 Wait until the oil is shimmering before adding the cheese.

Step 3: Fry to Golden: Place the halloumi slices in a single layer, ensuring they aren’t crowded.4 Fry for 2/3 minutes on the first side. Once the bottom is golden brown and crisp, flip the slices over.
Step 4: Season and Finish: Immediately after flipping, sprinkle the 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano or fresh thyme over the slices. Fry for another 2/3 minutes on the second side.
Step 5: Serve Hot: Transfer the slices to a plate and serve immediately. Halloumi is best enjoyed right off the pan while it’s still warm and flexible.
