3-Ingredient Pan-Fried Halloumi
Ingredients:
| INGREDIENTS | AMOUNT |
| Halloumi cheese, sliced 1/2-inch thick | 8 oz (225 g) |
| Olive oil (or butter) | 1 tbsp |
| Dried oregano or fresh thyme (optional) | 1/2 tsp |
How to Make 3-Ingredient Pan-Fried Halloumi:
Step 1: Prep the Cheese: Remove the halloumi from its packaging and slice it into 1/2-inch thick pieces. Use paper towels to pat the slices completely dry. Removing this surface moisture is the key to getting a deep golden crust and preventing the oil from splattering.

Step 2: Heat the Pan: Add the 1 tbsp of olive oil or butter to a non-stick skillet. Heat over medium heat until the oil is shimmering and the pan is hot.

Step 3: Fry the Halloumi: Carefully lay the cheese slices in the pan in a single layer. Cook for 2–3 minutes without moving them to allow the crust to form. Once the bottom is golden brown and crispy, flip the slices.
Step 4: Season (Optional): If you are using the 1/2 tsp of oregano or thyme, sprinkle it over the hot cheese immediately after flipping so the herbs can toast slightly in the oil. Cook the second side for another 2–3 minutes.
Step 5: Serve Immediately: Transfer the halloumi to a plate and serve while it is still hot and soft. It is delicious as an appetizer with a squeeze of fresh lemon or as a salty addition to a Mediterranean salad.
